So what did this Working Mum do?
If you were reading last year you'll know that I got ahead of the game on this one.
Yes, I've done it again!
I saved the old Easter Bonnet in a safe place; just need to give it a quick dust and Bob's your Uncle!

I reckon it'll last another year as well, then no more Easter Bonnet Parades!

oh you are so clever!!! An A*** awarded for that bit of genius:D xx
If my memory serves me correctly Katie Morag is a wee Scottish girl (I know, who'd guess it with a name like that) who lives on an island which may be called Tanna or I could have just made that up. She may or may not live with her granny who I am fairly certain is the post mistress (and that isn'y a euphanism)
You're welcome x
Brilliant! Now I know what an Easter bonnet is supposed to look like. I've avoided it for the last 2 years at nursery cos Elf's been staying with his grandparents. This year I will have to make one. I have actually kept the last hat we got in Pizza Hat (Elf's name for it) to act as a base for it! x
Auntie Gwen - thank you, can you now whip up a Katie Morag costume for me by Friday?
Humdrum Mum - you can find the original tale of that Easter Bonnet at http://workingmumonverge.blogspot.com/2008/03/blinking-bonnets.html
there was so much effort went into it, I wasn't letting it go!
Gorgeous!!
Now that is a VERY cunning plan !
Now that is a very pretty hat and, if not sat upon will do another Easter or two by just changing bunnies for flowers.
What I wouldn't give to be making bonnets for little ones again....sigh!
For Katie Morag I suggest a "See You Jimmy" hat :)
Ooh, that looks impressive. My daughter would enjoy making something like that. I'm not sure it would come out as well as yours though. Last time we made a hat it was too big for her head and slipped over her eyes. I got a C for attainment I think but a A for effort. Perhaps I should have used a tape measure!
What a good idea saving the master piece for another year.
Nuts in May
I'm a great one for re-using old favourites. If it aint bust, don't fix it.
I don't remember wee Katie having a particular costume, but we have the book downstairs if you need me to look. I heart her!
Good thinking. I hope that it still fits.
Expat Mum - thank you for your kind offer. I've now Googled Katie Morag and a post will be published tomorrow about her! Damn that little Scottish girl!
Cheshire Wife- it's a little on the small side, but I'm hoping that attaching some ribbon at the sides and tying it under her chin will do!
My two older boys both have Easter Bonnet Parades, but on different days. So I thought i could get away with making just one hat. Wrong. They both want one, with subtle variations of bunnies and eggs. If I hadn't mentioned it, am sure I could have got away with just one...
