First visit from the Tooth Fairy

Something nice for a change:

Big News in the Working Mum household!

Izzy has lost her first tooth!!

The little wobbly one at the bottom finally came out.

She was very upset and doesn't want to lose her teeth, but we tried to calm her down with tales of the tooth fairy and she brightened up at the thought of more money to spend on toy ponies!

So last night, she wrapped it in a tissue and put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy.

Then she said, "I hope the tooth fairy leaves me a coin and leaves my tooth"

"Why?" I asked

"Because I want to take my tooth for 'show and tell' at Rainbows"

Euww!

ahhh bless - she could have taken it before putting it under her pillow. Us Guiders are made of strong stuff you know!!! She wouldn't have been the first. It's the scab sharing that really gets to me!!!

I kept my wisdom teeth in a plastic tube for years...

Is the movie "Tooth Fairy" out in the UK yet? Might be a good time to see it (providing Izzy doesn't believe...) It's surprisingly good, for that kind of movie. I recommend it.

I kept some of my teeth for years - clearly my mother was not sensible enough to tell me it was disgusting. It's her I blame for the fact that I then went on to keep the bit that dropped off Son's cord when he was born, sellotaped onto a bit of paper. Yes, I know...

show & tell a tooth, that is so sweet. Amy has a couple of wobbly teeth and I'm thinking of a trip to the bank to take out a mortgage!!

Thanks for your comments on my blog - it's reassuring to know that I'm not over-reacting!
Jen still believes in the tooth fairy - and she's 10. I did realise that it's a lot easier to put the tooth in a pot next to the bed - she's a light sleeper and trying to get the tooth from under her pillow was a nightmare!
She gets a pound from the tooth fairy - and insists on keeping all her teeth (triple eugh!)

Ah, this brings back memories....

Got caught out a few times, either sneaking money under the pillow or horror of horrors, forgetting altogether only to wake up to tears. "The Tooth Fairy didn't come....waaaaahhhhh...!" What a bad mother !

Oh and always have plenty of coins in the house. You don't want to have to start leaving notes/asking for change.

What fun! Love your blog.

We've forgotten a couple of times; first time luckily son forgot too and I remembered before him and second time the tooth fairy must have been too busy last night with lots of teeth so we'll try again tonight. Meanwhile post it note goes on my pillow to remind me!!!
