WorkingMumitis more like!

Well, I spent four hours at hospital this morning in various departments and the official diagnosis is .............. bronchitis. That's a new one for me!

I've got a new inhaler with a mega dose of steroids and should be better within one to two months.

Excuse me?

MONTHS!!!?

That's right, I may be better by February half term!!

Husband says if that's the case, we need to review sleeping arrangements.
I think he's joking. At least I hope he's joking. Maybe I should check under the bed for a sword?

Maybe he could sleep in the Dog House! (just kidding) Maybe the new meds will kick in soon. Best wishes for a quicker recovery!

Yes yes... but how did you enjoy the waiting time and the Toblerone?? That's what I wanted to know.

Sorry about the diagnosis - you definitely need to take proper time off work.

I have a feeling that you will feel very much better far sooner than that.
Can't you go back to school till half term? You lucky thing!!!!!

Well bronchitus is 'inflamation of the Bronchi' and should clear up quickly with anti-biotics. Two months! I do hope he is wrong.

I hate to do this, but the Verifi. word is

Sass - I thoroughly enjoyed sitting reading my book, eating toblerone and drinking my ribena. One lady commented "That's the way to do it. Wish I'd brought a flask"

Maggie May - no such luck, not signed off work at all.

Moannie - loved the verification word, sometimes they are so apt!

Mummy Cow - I was back at school in the afternoon, but it was the last day of term so I'm now off for three weeks. Yay!

Gigi and Scrappy - I do think he's joking because in the middle of the night, when I had a nasty bout of coughing, he turned over and gave me a cuddle. He's not that bad, really!

Well milk it for all it's worth over the next three weeks and you might stand a fighting chance of being fit for the start of term. (Bit mean not getting a sick-note!)

Commiserations. I had bronchitis some years ago and I've never forgotten how ill I felt. I had a fortnight off work and needed every minute.

I hope that you feel better very soon. Give yourself some treats. You deserve them.

Goodness! Does that mean that you won't be able to work until Feb??

Good lord...2 months is a long time!

Ouch, that seems a long time and will be a drain on your energy levels. Can you at least get time off work?

Working mum said...

Nope, not signed off work. I've got three weeks' holiday now and then it's back unto the breach.

I'll see how I feel then; if not better I'll be back to my GP to ask for time off.

Having had pneumonia three times so far, I can relate with fighting the good respiratory fight. One takes breathing for granted, but not when you have to fight months to get it back! Be well!

Oh my - so sorry you aren't well. I know how difficult "sick days" are for teachers. Take care of yourself, watch out for sharp objects like swords and get plenty of chocolate. I love your blog!
