She's back!

We went out for a meal last night, we had a lie in this morning
but now ................................. daughter is back!

Grandma and Grandad have returned her after entertaining her for three days.

They are going home now to sleep for a week!

Yes, but did you enjoy the lie-in and the rest? I bet you did, secretly

Yes - I think of it as the maternal time paradox (yes I'm a sci-fi geek);

we miss our children desperately and yet instantly regret not have done something more/other with our time as soon as they return.

Yea, yea, she's home and the house is alive again!
Good to have them go a little and great to get them back. Does it seem she grew and inch or so. I use to think that when mine were gone for a few days. It's funny now.

blogthatmama - Yes, I did enjoy the meal and the lie-in.

Sass e-mum - I'm a sci-fi geek too!

Scrappy Sue - I went to work for part of the time, I cleaned parts of the house that hadn't seen a duster for weeks and I made two cheesecakes necessitating two trips to Tesco (long story)

Gigi - YES!!!! That is exactly what I said to my mum; she looks taller and older!

Scrappy Sue - I've made many cheesecakes, but for some reason I made a complete mess yesterday by using creme fraiche instead of fromage frais (had a senior moment). Hence second trip to Tesco to buy fromage frais and more ricotta. Second cheesecake turned out well!
